Who this guide is for: System administrators – Requires ‘Users’ permission
Overview:
This guide explains how to override a Public Holiday or Custom Day on an individual user’s calendar, allowing you to reclaim that date as a working period or non-working day.
How Override Custom Day Works:
When you override a date applied via a public holiday or custom days group, the calendar entry is removed and can be replaced with a bespoke working block or left blank. Any entitlement previously deducted for that date is returned to the user’s balance.
How to Set Up Override Custom Day (User):
- Go to Admin tools > Users.
- Search for the user and click Edit.
- Select the Calendar tab.
- In the calendar, click the date you wish to override.
- Click on the X next to the timeline bar - when hovering over it, it will say 'Override Custom Day'
- If you want to add a working period, click Add, then enter Start, End, and Duration.
- Click Save all changes at the top of the page.
- When prompted by Update Future Absences, click Yes to re-apply any future absences in line with your override.
Additional Information:
- Override Custom Day: Removes the public holiday/custom day marker for a specific date.
- Users permission is required to make user-level rota changes.
- Warning: Overriding a date where entitlement was deducted will automatically return the entitlement to the user.
- Tip: Use the search function within the platform to quickly locate the Rota tab or specific users.
