Overtime/TOIL Setup - Disabling an overtime or TOIL type globally

Who this guide is for: System administrators – Requires 'System Admin' role and Overtime and TOIL Setup permission

Overview:
This guide explains how to disable booking for an existing Overtime or TOIL type at the Global level, preventing users, managers, or HR from creating new entries of that type.

How Disabling Overtime/TOIL Booking Works:
Each Overtime/TOIL type has three booking controls—Can book own overtime, Can book reportees overtime, and Can book others overtime. Disabling these stops the respective roles from logging extra hours under that type, ensuring no further records can be created.

How to Set Up Disable Booking for an Overtime/TOIL Type:

  1. Go to Admin tools > Admin panel > Global > Overtime and TOIL Types.
  2. Find the Overtime or TOIL type you wish to disable and click Edit on its row.
  3. Under Booking Permissions, set:
    • Can book own overtime to No
    • Can book reportees overtime to No
    • Can book others overtime to No
  4. Click Save at the top of the page.

Additional Information:

  • Overtime/TOIL Type: Defines how extra hours are recorded and managed.
  • Booking Permissions: Control which roles can create entries for that type.
  • Requires 'System Admin' role and Overtime and TOIL Setup permission.
  • Warning: Disabling booking applies immediately to all users and cannot be overridden at Template or User level.
  • Tip: Review any pending requests before disabling to avoid orphaned records.
  • Use the search function within the platform to quickly find features or settings.
