Overview
Apply a Custom Days group at the Global level so all users inherit organisation-specific dates (e.g. Christmas shutdown). Templates or Users can override if needed.
How Custom Days Works
Custom Days are named sets of fixed dates with a display colour that can optionally deduct from an entitlement pot. Assigning at Global level makes the dates available system-wide; a Template or User assignment will override Global for those users.
How to Set Up Custom Days (Global)
Go to Admin tools > Admin panel > Calendar > Custom days.
In Applied custom days, open Select and choose the required Custom Days group.
Click Apply. The selected group appears in the list and its dates show in the preview.
Repeat to add more groups if required.
Click Save at the top of the page.
Additional Information
Custom Days group: Organisation-specific dates (e.g. “Company Shutdown 2025”).
Entitlement impact: If the group is configured to deduct from an entitlement, applying it at Global will affect balances accordingly.
Requires ‘System Admin’ role and Global Rota Setup permission.
Warning: Template overrides Global. Any Template/User assignment will replace the Global group for those users.
Best practice: Avoid assigning overlapping groups; review the on-screen preview before saving.
