Audience: System administrators with 'System Admin' role permissions.
Overview:
This guide explains how to set up manual and automatic carry-over for entitlements, including expiry rules and restrictions.
How Carry-Over Works:
- Manual Carry-Over: Allows admins and/or users to transfer unused days to another entitlement (e.g., moving remaining holiday days to next year)
 - Automatic Carry-Over: System transfers unused days automatically during rollover (e.g., on 1st January)
 - Expiry Rules: Define if carried-over days lapse after a specific date

Why Use It?
Ensure employees retain unused leave days according to company policy, while avoiding manual calculations.
How to Set Up Carry-Over:
- Go to Admin Panel > Global > Entitlements
 - Click Edit on the entitlement pot (e.g., "Holiday")
 - Select Edit for the specific entitlement element
 - Scroll to Carry-over and expiry settings
 - Configure options:
- Manual Carry-Over: Tick Allow manual carry-over to and select target entitlements
 - Automatic Carry-Over: Set Automatically carry over to and choose the destination entitlement
 - Max Days: Enter Maximum carry-over amount (days) (e.g., "5.00" to cap transfers)
 - Expiry: Change "Never" to "Specific date" and select a day/month if needed

 - Click Save and update

Note: Automatic carry-over skips users with Pending absences in the outgoing year.
