Roles - HR role permissions

Who this guide is for: System administrators – Requires ‘System Admin’ role and Role Setup permission


Overview:
This guide explains how to configure the HR role permissions, granting HR staff access to profile editing, sensitive data, document portals, and analytics.


How HR Role Permissions Work:
The HR role bundles permissions that control what HR users can see and do:

  • Profile Editor: View and edit all staff profiles

  • Profile Viewer: View all staff profiles

  • HR Admin: Access sensitive fields (e.g. salary data)

  • Document Portal: Access the Document Portal page (paid feature)

  • Insights: Access the Insights analytics page


How to Set Up HR Role Permissions:

  1. Go to Admin tools > Admin panel > Global > Roles.

  2. Locate the HR OR Administrator role and click Edit on its row.

  3. In the Permissions section, enable or disable:

    • Profile Editor

    • Profile Viewer

    • HR Admin

    • Document Portal

    • Insights

  4. Click Save at the top of the page.


Additional Information:

  • Role Setup: Controls which features each role can access.

  • Document Portal: Paid add-on—contact customersuccess@e-days.com for licensing.

  • Requires ‘System Admin’ role and Role Setup permission.

  • Warning: Changes affect all users assigned to the HR OR Administrator role.

  • Tip: Use the search function within the platform to quickly find Roles.
