Entitlement Setup - Set a Global level overbooking mode

Who this guide is for: System administrators. Requires 'Entitlement Setup' permission.

Overview:

This guide explains how to configure overbooking mode at the Global level, controlling whether users can book absences beyond their entitlement balance.

How Overbooking Mode Works:

Overbooking mode determines if users can submit absences when they have insufficient entitlement. Options include:

  • Allow: Users can book into negative balance
  • Deny: System blocks bookings that would create negative balance
  • Prompt: Warns users before allowing overbooking

How to Set Up Global Overbooking Mode:

  1. Go to Admin tools > Admin panel > Global > Entitlement setup
  2. Click Edit next to the relevant entitlement pot
  3. Select desired Overbooking mode (Allow/Deny/Prompt)
  4. Click Save at the top of the page

How to Access Overbooking Mode via Search
You can quickly find and amend Overbooking Mode using the search bar:

  1. Click on the search bar and type Overbooking mode
  2. In the results, select whether you want to edit at Global, Template, or User level
    • For example, if you want to amend Overbooking Mode at a Global level, select Overbooking mode – Global
  3. A pop-up window will appear
  4. From the dropdown menus, select the relevant Entitlement pot
  5. Click Confirm to open the setting
  6. Make the required changes to Overbooking Mode and Save
