Time Tracking - Time entry mode

This guide has been created for system administrators.

Specific role permissions may be required, including: System setup.

Overview

Time Tracking is a paid feature that allows you to track the working hours of your team members. You might need to do this in countries where the EU Time Directive applies, such as Spain or Germany. You can also use Time Tracking to manage weekly timesheets, with clocking in/out functionality and detailed reporting available across your teams.

To enable this feature, please contact our Customer Success team at customersuccess@e-days.com.

Time Entry mode in our Time Tracking module allows you to control the methods of entry for your employees. This feature is essential in ensuring that your employees are submitting their timesheets accurately and efficiently.

Options
:

  1. Clocking and Input - This is the default option, and it allows full entry by all methods. Employees can clock in and out, edit their timesheets, and enter breaks and activities manually.
  2. Clocking Only - This option is ideal for blue-collar workers who shouldn't be allowed to edit their time. Employees can only clock in and delete periods. Breaks and activities cannot be entered manually or edited. Authorisers can still edit on behalf of others, even if this permission is removed for themselves.
  3. QR Code Clocking Only - This option is suitable for factory floor workers who need to be in specific places. Employees can only clock in via QR codes, and they cannot edit their timesheets or clock in via the web app. The "Skip" button is removed when scanning a QR code.
  4. Input Only - This option is for employees who use the copy rota function and tend to populate timesheets as easily as possible. They do not need to clock in, so this setting supports them further.
  5. Total Hours Only - This mode is used to remove start & end times from each day, instead you will only see the total hours per day. Breaks and Activities are disabled in this mode, as well as clock in and out.

Please note: Integrations bypass this setting, so if you have integrations set up, this feature may not work as expected.

In conclusion, the Time Tracking feature is a powerful tool that allows you to control the methods of entry for your employees. By selecting the appropriate option, you can ensure that your employees are submitting their timesheets accurately and efficiently.
