Overview:
This guide explains how to configure accrual policies, which determine when and how entitlement is awarded to users based on service length or other criteria.
How Accrual Policies Work:
Accruals consist of two components:
- Long Service Award: Defines how much entitlement is given
- Accrual Policy: Determines when the entitlement is awarded
Policies can be set to trigger on various schedules (yearly, monthly, employment anniversary etc.) and can account for FTE (pro-rata arrangements).
How to Set Up an Accrual Policy:
- Navigate to Global > Entitlements
- Click Accrual Patterns and click on + Add new
- Configure these key settings:
- Description: Use clear names like "Yearly Employment Start"
- Enable Projected Annual Total: (Usually disabled)
- Prorate Award: Typically set to Yes to account for FTE
- Award in the Year:
- Current Year: Awards take effect immediately (most commonly used)
- Next Year: Awards apply from next holiday year start
- Recurrence Pattern: Set frequency (yearly, monthly etc.)
- Click Save at the top of the page
