Rota Setup - Adding a new hours rota pattern

Need to know:

If a user is on a days based rota pattern, we recommend ensuring that they are on a days based entitlement pot and booking using days based absence types.

As with hours based rota patterns we recommend that they are on an hours based entitlement pot and booking using hours based absence types.

Failure to comply with the above may lead to issues regarding how entitlement is calculated.

For users who typically book time off in full or half days and prefer to view their entitlements expressed in days, a days-based pattern is highly recommended. This pattern aligns seamlessly with their booking habits, allowing for straightforward planning and management of their leave. Conversely, users who book and meticulously track their leave in hours should be assigned an hours-based pattern, which accommodates their tracking methodology and supports accurate calculations of their time off.

If you need to assign a pattern based on hours to users who book in days, please consult the guide on the variable hours rota pattern. This comprehensive guide will provide clarity on the various outcomes that may arise from different configurations and help you effectively configure the setup to meet organizational needs and user expectations.
