Reinstating a Leaver

Overview

This guide explains how to reinstate a former employee ("Leaver") in the system, restoring their access and historical data.


How User Reinstatement Works

  • Purpose: Reactivate a departed user's account while preserving their absence history and records.
  • Use case: Correct accidental terminations or rehire former employees efficiently.
  • Impact: Restores full system access; maintains historical data integrity.


How to Reinstate a User

  1. Navigate to Admin > Users > Users.
  2. Use search filters to locate the leaver, then click the blue "Edit" button.
  3. Click the "Reinstate User" button.
  4. Confirm by clicking the orange "Confirm" button.


Additional Information

  • Prerequisite: Users permission in your edays role.
  • Key terms:
    • Leaver: User marked as departed via offboarding.
    • Reinstatement: Reactivation of a leaver's account.
  • Important:
    • Reinstatement preserves historical records (absences, entitlements).
    • Always use the top Save button after changes.
  • Tip: Use the search function to quickly find users by name or status.
