What happens to Next Year if I adjust the Current Year balance?
With Accrue on Rollover set to Yes, the system will award a balance at the start of the new Holiday Year based on the Total amount of days a user received in their previous year. This includes any changes you made to their total during the year.
For example:
- A user has 25 days in 2022.
- They have 0 days in 2023.
- During the current year, 3 days were added to their entitlement using the Adjustments tool.
- On January 1st 2023, this user will receive 28 days.
If a balance already exists for Next Year, and you make a change to the Current Year balance - this will not affect the Next Year balance.
For example:
- A user has 25 days in 2022.
- They have 25 days in 2023.
- During the current year, 3 days were added to their entitlement using the Adjustments tool.
- On January 1st 2023, this user will still only have 25 days.
- If you need to update Next Year, you can do this via the Import Entitlement Tool, or manually change that individual user.
Important Note: If you have setup automatic Long Service Awards, these operate separately and are awarded on top of the Base balance at the start of the Holiday Year or Employment Start Date anniversary, depending on how you have configured these.
