When users request a holiday, the total hours doesn't match to what they work on those days. Why is this?
Answer
When you have a user that is set to a days based rota pattern that books an absence using an hours based absence type you will find that the absence will not report the correct duration if attempting to book across full days days.
In this case, we would recommend that you have one absence type set to an Hours time unit and another set to Days based time unit. For example, 'Holiday (Days)' as one absence type and 'Holiday (Hours)' as another absence type.
Users can then use the hours based version for part of a single day (e.g. take 2 hours of absence in the afternoon) and the day based version of the absence when requesting full days of absence.
