Who this guide is for:
System Administrators. Requires 'Absence Setup' (Global) and 'User Templates' (Template) permissions.
Overview:
This guide explains how to restrict an absence type to specific user templates, e.g., for country-specific absence types (such as RTT Days in France) or absence types that should only be bookable by administrators.
How Template-Specific Absence Types Work:
- Use case: Limit booking ability for certain absence types (e.g., only HR can book "Administrative Leave") to selected templates.
- To achieve this, disable the absence type globally, then enable it for selected templates.
How to Set Up Template-Specific Absence Types:
1. Disable the Absence Type Globally
- Go to Admin Tools > Admin Panel.
- Navigate to Global > Absence Type Setup.
- Click +Add New (or select an existing absence type by searching or browsing and clicking Edit).
- Under Booking Settings, amend the following to No:
- Can Book Own
- Can Book Reportees
- Can Book Others
- Click Save at the top of the page.
2. Enable for Specific Templates
- Go to Admin Tools > Admin Panel > Templates > User Templates.
- Click Edit on the desired template.
- Select the Absence Types tab.
- Search for the absence type and click Edit.
- Set Booking Settings to Yes and adjust permissions as needed.
- Click Save Template at the top of the page.
To view the above GIF better, right-click and click on 'Open image in new tab'!
