Absence Setup - Self-certification or Return to Work form

Who this is for: Administrators. Requires 'Absence Setup' permission.

Overview:
Return to Work forms are an important step in any absence management process. This guide explains how to attach Self-Certification or Return to Work forms to unplanned absence types (e.g., Sickness), triggering them when users book leave.

How Return to Work Forms Work:
When enabled, these forms automatically prompt users to complete additional details (e.g., illness symptoms, return dates) upon booking an unplanned absence. Employees and managers will receive an email when an absence is closed to follow next steps. This streamlines compliance and record-keeping.

Available form types:

  1. Self-Certification (User-only)
  2. Self-Cert and RTW combined (User and Manager)
  3. Return to Work (Manager-only)

How to Set Up Self-Certification Forms:

  1. Navigate to Admin Tools > Admin Panel
  2. Select Global > Absence Types in the left panel
  3. Find the absence type (browse or use search filter)
  4. Click Edit next to the absence type
  5. Under General Settings, locate Additional Form
  6. Select your preferred form type
  7. Click Save (top-right corner)

You can enable these settings on specific templates if needed, for example you may only want this process to apply to a specific office or a certain country in your edays setup.
