This guide explains how to enable or disable absence types globally, affecting all users unless overridden by Template or User-level settings.
How Global Absence Settings Work:
Global settings define default absence permissions for your entire organisation. These serve as baseline rules that can be refined at Template or User levels. Useful for standardising company-wide leave policies.
How to Set Up Global Absence Settings:
- Navigate to Admin Tools > Admin Panel
- Select Global > Absence Types in the left panel
- Find the absence type (browse or search)
- Click Edit next to the absence type
- Expand Booking Settings
- Adjust these permissions:
- Can book own absences (Inherited/Yes/No)
- Can book reportees' absences (Inherited/Yes/No )
- Can book others' absences (Inherited/Yes/No )
- Click Save (top-right corner)
