Absence Setup - Enable/Disable an absence type - User level

Who this is for: System administrators. Requires 'Absence Setup' permission.
Overview:
This guide explains how to enable or disable specific absence types for individual users, overriding Global or Template settings.

How Absence Booking Settings Work:
Absence types (e.g., Holiday, Sickness) can be restricted or permitted for users at three levels:

  1. Global
  2. Template
  3. User

User-level settings take precedence over Template and Global settings. This feature is useful for tailoring absence permissions for specific roles or individuals.

How to Set Up Absence Booking Settings:

  1. Navigate to Admin Tools > Admin Panel
  2. Select Users > User Overview in the left panel
  3. Find the user (browse or use search filter)
  4. Click Edit next to the user's name
  5. Select the Absence Types tab
  6. Locate the absence type (browse or use search filter)
  7. Click Edit next to the absence type
  8. Adjust these settings:
    • Can book own absences (Inherited/Yes/No)
    • Can book reportees' absences (Inherited/Yes/No)
    • Can book others' absences (Inherited/Yes/No)
  9. Click Save User (top-right corner)
