Absence Setup - Enable/Disable an absence type - Template level

Who this is for: System administrators. Requires 'User Templates' permission.

Overview:
This guide explains how to enable or disable specific absence types for groups of users via templates, overriding Global settings while being overridden by User-level settings.

How Template-Level Absence Settings Work:
Template settings allow you to control absence permissions (e.g., who can book Holiday or Sickness leave) for entire user groups. Useful for applying department-specific rules (e.g., disabling unpaid leave for contractors).

How to Set Up Template-Level Absence Settings:

  1. Navigate to Admin Tools > Admin Panel
  2. Select Templates in the left panel
  3. Find the template (browse or use search filter)
  4. Click Edit next to the template name
  5. Select the Absence Types tab
  6. Locate the absence type (browse or search)
  7. Click Edit next to the absence type
  8. Adjust these settings:
  9. Can book own absences (Inherited/Yes/No)
    • Can book reportees' absences (Inherited/Yes/No)
    • Can book others' absences (Inherited/Yes/No)
  10. Click Save Template (top-right corner)
